Competition Rules & Guidelines
Intra-club competitions are run on a monthly basis. The following guidelines should be observed when submitting work for judging:
$20 Child (under 18) - must have guardian
$60 Family
Members may initially elect to compete in either "Novice" or "Experienced" competition.
"Experienced" category members may not compete in "Novice" competition.
"Novice" members may enter "Experienced" competition at any time, but will forever remain in the "Experienced" category from that time on. Note however that aggregate points awarded in "Novice" are not carried over to the "Experienced" competition.
"Novice" aggregate winner and runner up will be promoted to "Experienced" category in the following year.
A member may not submit the same image in both categories on the same night. Images receiving an award may not be re-submitted in future monthly competitions.
Only financial members may enter competitions.
Each Grade has 2 aggregate competitions:
"Novice" and "Experienced" "PRINT"
"Novice" and "Experienced" "EDI (Electronic Digital Image).
"Photographer of the Year" Highest accumulated points from "Print" and "EDI" categories combined, will determine "Novice" and "Experienced" winners.

Grades
There are currently 2 categories available to members, "Novice" and "Experienced". This is intended to reflect the member's proficiency and experience.Members may initially elect to compete in either "Novice" or "Experienced" competition.

Entries
Images entered into competition must have been made from the member's original exposure and may be enhanced or manipulated by the maker using image editing software. Films and Prints may be commercially produced.A member may not submit the same image in both categories on the same night. Number of Entries Per Member
Members may submit a maximum of 4 entries on any one competition night in Print, EDI or across both at the members discretion.

Judging
Work will be ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd or "Highly Commended" as judged and points will be awarded accordingly.3 Points = First
2 Points = Second
1 Point = Third
1/2 Point = Highly Commended
Members Details
On the back of Print entries, the "Title" of the image and the "Membership Number" is to be written in the "Upper Left Corner" Competition Topic
Competitions either have an "assigned" topic or "open" topic for which members may submit any photo of their choice.Mount Size
Prints shall be mounted and mounts must be a minimum of 20cm x 25cm (8in x 10in) and a maximum of 40cm x 50cm (16in x 20 in). Print Size
Prints may be any size up to a maximum of 40cm x 50cm (16in x 20in)Entry Cut-Off Date
All work should ideally be submitted at the meeting prior, or at the very latest, two weekends prior to the competition Mounted Thickness
Prints to be mounted on Mattboard with a total thickness of no more than 5mm.
